Description
Standard Polypropylene
For concentrated acids and alkalis, strong oxiding agents, corrosive fluids and gases. Not FDA/ FDA approved. Easily
Fibrilled Polypropylene
Nonmigrating slit film
polypropylene. Used in ultrapure luquids, electronics, and plating where
nonleaching is critical. Chemical
Natural cotton
Suitable for oils, water, paints,
organic solvents, petroleum. It is usually not FDA approved. For use up
to temperatures of 300 ℉
Bleached cotton
Bleaching is carried out to meet FDA
standards for potable applications like distilled water, beverages,
vegetable oils, petroleum fatty acids, and alchohols. For use up to
temperatures of 300 ℉
Rayon
Fluid compatibility similar to cotton, but has a more coarse fiber and is less absorbent. Swells in aqueous solutions.
Polyester
Chemical resistance similar to polypropylene, with temperature resistance to 350 ℉
Nylon
For special process applications, concentrated alkalis, and hydrocarbons. For use to 350 ℉
Activated carbon
Activated carbon sandwiched between two layers of winding, either polypropylene or bleached cotton. FDA approved for potable
Heat treated glass
Heat treated to yield virgin glass fiber. Excellent for high temperature applications. For use upto 750 ℉
